Our Church

At the heart of the life of Tron Kirk Tron Kirk is a desire to get to know Jesus and our local community better. Tron Kirk is at one and the same time His Church Our Church and Your Church and we would love to get the chance to meet you so please come along to our worship and or some of our activities. The Tron was built at the end of the cul-de-sac which is at 6 Craigour Gardens in Moredun and Gilmerton Parish Church (The Hub) is at 6 Ravenscroft Street in Gilmerton. Both these buildings are in very good order and whilst the Church in Gilmerton is a classic looking village Church complete with bell tower it has been modernised on the inside and is very photogenic.

The Tron Kirk in Moredun built in the 1950s is a fabulous suite of various sized halls and rooms with a 100 seater sanctuary. We are part of the Church of Scotland and the Edinburgh Presbytery and as such come under the jurisdiction of the Church of Scotland whose vision statement is …"The Church of Scotland seeks to inspire the people of Scotland and beyond with the Good News of Jesus Christ through enthusiastic worshipping, witnessing, nurturing and serving communities”. That is a statement which we very much agree with at Tron Kirk and we do our part to seek to “deliver” here in our parish of over 13000 people with a couple of thousand new homes either being build or soon to be built in our area. We work very hard indeed to create living relationships with as many people in the area as possible through our wide variety of weekly activities. As you will see from our ‘What We Do’ page we really do try to have something for everyone to try to join to enjoy.
